I came to Amanda earlier this year willing to try anything. I had lost all hope in ever leading a normal life or being able to control my emotions. All through my teen years I have had severe depression and anxiety, it affected my work, home life and relationships and made me feel absolutely worthless. I graduated from the Manchester College of Coaching and Hypnotherapy with Distinction and am passionate about helping clients find better ways of living their lives. As part of my MSc in Psychology at Coventry University (where I also graduated with Distinction) I was able to conduct in-depth research into treating anxiety with hypnotherapy.
By drawing on these extensive studies and my personal clinical practice I have created a unique blend of hypnotherapy and analytical psychotherapies called Integrative Analytic Hypnosis. Through further incorporation of a variety of therapeutic techniques (including NLP, Emotional Freedom Techniques, EMDR and Life Coaching) into our sessions I can help you find long-term solutions to emotional, psychological and practical day-to-day issues.
Prior to becoming a hypnotherapist, I worked in education, international business, business consultancy and holistic therapies both in the UK and abroad. My broad professional background, and own life experience, combined with specialist training means I am able to establish effective rapport with clients from all walks of life.
Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed and switch your phone off if you’re on a Zoom call.
If you have booked phone sessions please set your phone to ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode.
Use headphones or earphones if you can – that way you hear me better, there is more privacy for you, and you can relax your arms.
Make sure you have a flat surface for your phone/tablet/laptop so we can see each other clearly - if you're balancing it on your knees it can be distracting for us both!
Have a pen and paper ready to note down any ideas or action plans.
Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee to enjoy whilst we do the chatting bit at the beginning.
Leave pets and children in the care of someone else whilst you’re on the call.
Have a glass of water to hand - keeping hydrated helps your brain to function at its best.
All sessions are via phone or Zoom. Minimum of 4 sessions.
